Wore these while pulling a smoking hot cast iron skillet off the campfire and the leather held up perfectly without any heat coming through. The cuff length is just right too, covering my wrist when I’m reaching into the flames.

The leather is stiff at first, but after a week of pulling hot skillets off the fire, it molds to your hand like a good glove. I tossed these in my camping bin and they’ve handled everything from a scorching Dutch oven to a flaming cast iron griddle without a single hint of heat bleeding through.

I’ve used these mitts for campfire cooking and they’ve handled my heaviest cast iron skillet without any heat seeping through the fingers. The leather is thick but flexible enough to grip the handle firmly, and after a few uses it’s only getting more comfortable.
